Battle of Jakobovo
July 19, 1812
Jakobovo was a battle early in the 1812 campaign that pitted an uncharacteristically
aggressive and well organized force under Wittgenstein against elements of Oudinot’s
II Corps on their way to rejoin the rest of the army. Historically the II Corps were
bloodied heavily by aggressive attacks of the Russian jaegers from the woods to the right
of Jakobovo. Order of battle and map is taken from George Nafziger’s Napoleon’s
Invasion of Russia. Game length is 18 turns beginning at 9 AM and lasting until 6 PM.

Objectives
Russian decisive if the French lose half their numbers and are pushed back to
Kiliastitsky

Koulineff may deploy as far forward as the hill overlooking Jakobovo. The rest of
Wittengenstein corps may deploy behind it. The Reserve Corps (Repnin and
Kakhoffski) must
deploy at least 1000m behind the hill and completely behind all other troops.
