The Eastern Front 1914 – 1917

The campaign is set in 1916 during the Brusilov offensive south of the Pripet Marshes around the town of Lemburg.

The Russians have moved several Corps into the area to oppose the Imperial German army, which includes a number of Austrian units.

The sides are roughly equal and the aim of the operation was to seize the railways, bridges and occupy the towns and villages in the area to push the front line towards the enemy.

Both sides needed a moral boosting victory the Russians because they had sustained dreadful losses so far and the revolutionary factions were gaining momentum, the Germans because the Western Front was bogged down to a manpower consuming deadlock.

All rules apply from the main rule book and in addition those WW1 extra rules printed in the PoW magazine

Each army will be 1600 points strong calculated from the list of choices. This will allow the commander the ability to tailor his forces to the type of campaign he is going to fight.

Replacements and new Recruits will be sent at intervals but will be randomly selected from a reserve list.

An aerodrome may be constructed on the map. This will take 2 map turns.
