Game 3
Played Nicholas Holmshaw
Game 5
French against Prussians. Gordon Jupp took the Prussians and with good deployment
won 8:2. Still it was all down to that town, I lost an entire French division
trying to take it, and if one until had survive I'd have won. Nail biting game,
right down to the last melee. Looking forward to meeting Gordon again at
Warfare, at the fourth attempt may be I'll beat him!
Game 6
Amongst these photos you will see an Ottoman-Turkish Army, if you face it be
aware that Cavalry goes along way. There are hoards of it. The Russian army
Graham Wilmott pairs with it can take it on but you need to know what your doing.
Unfortunately I completely fouled up bring my cavalry up to meet it instead of
just ignoring it and advancing the infantry, I just plain forgot that Russian
Infantry just ignores everything! Still I did rout a few of his cavalry units.
Chris did manage however to cut my line of communication with a unit, told you
the cavalry had along reach, and that's with poor generals almost all
round! So lost the 6th game 8:2, leaving me annoyingly placed 11th with my
brother Jon 3 points ahead in 7th place.
Massive thanks to Paul Fox for umpiring.
Big thanks also to these folks for organising the event.
