Southern African is an interesting geography for wargamers. Colonial and tribal warfare over 200 year period gives many interesting conflicts to recreate. The Boer Wars in the late 19th and early 20th Centuries prepared the British Army for modern warfare, how useful this was is a matter of conjecture.  The pictures here are from the Illustrated London news and from 1879 when Great Britain invaded Zululand.
